Updates From Mission Rally ![]() ![]() Juz came back from the divisional missions rally, we had a soft launch for this blog. Already we've got people signing up to recieve updates. So first & foremost, a welcome to those who took an interest in us & drop by here. As far as I know, this is the first mission blog that is dedicated to a team, a particular project. The other blogs I know of so far, are missionary blogs dedicated to a particular missionary family. So, welcome to the 21st century mission! You see, we use all ways available on hand to fullfill & support the great commission. Thank you for your support, both now & the year to come. As stated during the rally, the first 24 person who sign in to be notify for updates on Sunday, they will be given a mystery gift (actually not so mystery now lah,for those of you who were there at the rally) to thank them for their support. We have our first live blogging session there at the rally, where what Bro Aaron & Sis Anne share was transcribe instantly over here. The marvel of technology!! Well, some follow up to what we've posted earlier. Bro Aaron & Sis Anne will be away for 2 months from mid Oct till mid Dec. I'm quite sure they'll have much more pic & updates from Manatuto, perhaps some videos too. I believe they'll update us as soon as they are back, telling us of their experience as well as the needs there, so that we can prayer better. Keep them in mind for the trip, for safety, for discernment, for strategy to win. I've learn from Bro Aaron some needs the team is having, I'll list them here, maybe you have a spare one lying around or know someone who no longer have any use for it. Or even if you decide to bless the team with one, do drop a message on the tag or in the comment section. Firstly, the team has a need for a Short Wave radio, as you probably know by now, the place the team is going has no TV, phone line nor radio station for FM programme. The nearest place to get even a phone signal is 2 hours away. Therefore, for them to keep track of the outside world, they need a radio. It don't have to be new or a super duper one, just functional. The other item is a pair of walkie talkie, the place has no signal, so their hp serve no purpose other than as paper weight. As the team need to split up for their outreach activities, they'll need the talkies to stay contactable, for safety & communication purpose. The purpose of us posting it here is not to beg or compel anyone to contribute, neither is the team trying to solicit. It's juz us who is supporting their mission opening this up for those with the right things, at the right time who may be interested to support the team in more than one way. Regardless of outcome, thanks for listening out & being interested. So much for now. Live Blogging at Mission Rally in Futsing Message from Bro Aaron and Sis Anne
Satire ![]() Inspite of the difficult living circumstances there in Timor, the local still manage to keep a sense of humour. Perhaps that helps to make an unpalatable situation more bearable. So here, you've got one on the political situation... then another on the lack of proper toilet facilities in the country...along with it the lack of providence of the essential papers...therefore a good kindly reminder for those new to this place to...have the right papers.
